On 10th May, our Level 1 Professional Cookery students made and served a Fish Friday lunch to raise money the Rainbow Trust, at Taste Restaurant. The menu included popular fish dishes such as Prawn Cocktail, Steamed mussels in white wine, and Fish and chips served with mushy peas and Delice of plaice served with pomme marquise.
For the fundraising event, our learners made and prepare a three-course lunch based on popular fish dishes with a buffet of desserts. In total, the lunch raised the sum £120. 00.
The fish was donated by the Seafood School, at the famous fish market Billingsgate Market, London.
Sandra Marshall, Professional Cookery course tutor, commented: "I was impressed by the preparation and presentation of the fish dishes made by our students. This experience has given them both the confidence and ability to make popular fish meals to an excellent standard. "
Daniel Jacobs, Food & Beverage Service course tutor said: "For the first ever Fish Friday lunch, our students put on service and the feedback on food from guests was good. The donations from guests will help the benefactors of Rainbow Trust, in a big way. "
The next charitable fundraising lunch hosted by our Hospitality & Catering Academy students is on 12 June 2019, in aid of Cancer Research UK -- to book click here.
