The Aurora Centre, our specialist, non-residential FE centre for young adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities, is pleased to have welcomed back 100% of students.
The students attend a work placement outside at Farm Road Pavilion for two days a week, an outside space which they help look after alongside the National Trust. They have been working incredibly hard, creating a nature trail and clearing an area for 460 trees which will be donated by the Woodland Trust. The physical activity helps to support the sensory regulation of many students.
The group was also joined by a number of other students who tried this type of work for the first time, which meant their peers back in college had a bit more space to socially distance. Well done to all of our students who have helped look after this fantastic outdoor space.
