Level 2 Certificate - Care and Management of Diabetes

This qualification aims to:

provide an understanding of the different types of diabetes and how they can occur
develop awareness of how the onset of Type 2 diabetes can be delayed with life changes
develop understanding of diabetes diagnosis and initial care
develop understanding of ongoing care and treatment of diabetes to control blood sugar levels.

Entry Requirements
In order to be able to enrol for this course, Learners must meet the following criteria:
- Be aged 19 or over
- Have lived in the UK for the past 3 years
- Have achieved a Grade C (or above) in GCSE English, or a Pass in Functional Skills Level 2.

- Unit 01 Understand diabetes
- Unit 02 Prevention and early intervention of Type 2 diabetes
- Unit 03 Understand the initial care of diabetes
- Unit 04 Understand the treatment and management of diabetes

Course Structure

The programme is run entirely online, using a range of virtual teaching and learning strategies, including live interactive webinars. You will need access to a PC/Tablet device and to be available for one full day each week for five weeks.
