What is enrolment?
Enrolment is your final stage of becoming a Merton College student. Everyone needs to enrol, whether you are a full time, undergraduate, part time student or an apprentice. Due to the restrictions of COVID-19 this year and the need to adhere to social distancing guidelines we will not be enrolling students on site but via telephone and online. If you have not yet applied to the College, apply online today.
How will I be enrolled?
Your Enrolment will be completed via the College application portal and over the telephone. If you applied before 20th July, in most cases you will have received an enrolment email and letter. This will explain the step by step enrolment process, your telephone enrolment appointment date and time as well as the contact details we currently hold for you.
The Tutor will call you during the specified time and complete your enrolment over the phone. Please ensure you have completed all necessary enrolment steps BEFORE this telephone appointment. For example, you will need to upload your qualifications to the application portal before we can complete your enrolment.
What if I do not get the grades I need?
In these extraordinary times, we are aware that the method for awarding GCSE, A Level and vocational grades this summer has been unsettling for many of our applicants - some may feel that they have missed out on an opportunity to demonstrate their true ability. When Results Day arrives we would like to reassure prospective students that we will consider all available information when confirming places on our courses. Please see the message from Ofqual and sharing assessed grades for details on GCSE results for 2020.
If your calculated grades do not go as you hoped our tutors will discuss with you on a one to one basis the options that are open to you and any additional information that will be considered. Our aim is to match a student to the right course as this will enable them to thrive and realise their full potential, giving them the strong foundation to pursue their dream career.
I have not yet applied, is there still time to join the College?
You can still make your application via the website (or via UCAS Clearing for Undergraduate) all prospective students will need to make an application ahead of enrolling on a course. If you are unsure of which course to apply for, make an appointment with our Careers Team at our Virtual Information Point (book an appointment here) who can help you decide which course is best suited to your future plans.
