This taster will introduce participants to key ideas of counselling and the helping profession.
Participants will explore the make-up of their self and self-awareness. This will be linked to theory with a look at some basic counselling skills and will enable those who may be interested to gain some insight into the subject before committing to a counselling course.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
The session is aimed at those who have had no previous counselling experience or training and are interested in finding out more.
You could enrol on our Introduction to Counselling and Wellbeing course.
