On 21 November, our Merton Adult Learning department invited Merton Council Trading Standards to visit the College and speak to our learners about Internet Safety and Scam Protection.

Last month, our Travel and Tourism students on Level 3 and Level 2 made a visit to Thorpe Park Resort, in Chertsey, Surrey; as part of their Unit 1 module The Travel & Tourism Sector, with a strong emphasis on looking at customer service operations at a theme park.

On 15th October 2018, eight students from Merton College attended Merton’s Jack Petchey Foundation Awards Evening to collect their Jack Petchey Achievement Award, in recognition for their success both in and out the classroom.

On 15th October 2018, Merton College’s Hospitality and Catering Academy was delighted to host a masterclass for local schools competing in the Wandsworth Young Chef of the year Competition. The masterclass was designed to help the young competitors to prepare for the school heats and grand finale of the competition.

On 28th September 2018, the Hospitality & Catering Academy hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning at Merton College's Taste Restaurant, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, to support people living with cancer to live life as fully as they can.
