On 28th September 2018, the Hospitality & Catering Academy hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning at Merton College's Taste Restaurant, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, to support people living with cancer to live life as fully as they can.
As part of a nationwide fundraising event, throughout the morning both staff and students at the College came together over coffee and cakes, as made the students of the Hospitality & Catering Academy of all levels to raise money for a worthy cause held at the Taste Restaurant. In total, the fundraising event raised the sum of £184.90 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Daniel Jacobs, Hospitality & Catering Academy lecturer, said “this was the first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning since the merge with Carshalton College. Overall it was a great event, as it allowed students and staff to engage over coffee and cake on a cause that close to our hearts”.
