This programme is designed to enable learners to progress into sustained employment. Following an initial assessment of six weeks, the student will be placed with an employer that matches the needs and wishes of the student. Learning will take place both on the job and in the College training facilities with Maths and English being embedded at the appropriate level. Qualification opportunities are provided in line with the requirements of the job role. Dedicated tutor support provides for an excellent experience, enabling the internee to succeed.
Learners will undertake six weeks of assessment and will then be provided an opportunity to complete an internship with a local employer with a possible job outcome at the end.
Assessment is completed via a portfolio of evidence, which may include observation, Q & A, Practical or written assessments. Functional Skills assessments will take place throughout the year as appropriate to the individual. The students will work towards gaining an OCR qualification.
A desire to become employed and develop skills needed to achieve this. Students who are aged 16-24 and currently hold an Education, Health and Care Plan.
Suitability for the programme will be assessed both before joining and during the first six weeks of the course.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in real work related activities with a possible job outcome at the end of it.
