This taster course in Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi will introduce a set of exercises which is based on the philosophy of Tai Chi including extracts from the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. Everyone is welcome.
Emphasis will be placed on synchronizing the 18 movements with proper breathing techniques. Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi is designed to improve the general health and wellbeing The gentle rocking motions and stretching movements improve circulation and digestion. The chest exercises and controlled breathing are good for lung conditions and asthma.
The overall effect of the exercise is to reduce mental stress and physical tension carried in the muscles of the body. This Qigong is very effective and easy to learn. The gentle movements doubled by the rhythmic breathing are suitable for people of all ages as it does not put too much stress on muscles and joints if done correctly and can be practiced sitting or standing.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
