Introduction

If you want to be a hair stylist, work in a salon or create professional-standard styles at home this course is for you. Learn essential techniques to style and dress hair into elaborate updos for a range of occasions such as weddings and proms. You'll learn to set hair and use heated equipment to give your styles a professional finish.

You'll be taught in our industry-standard working salon and gain practical experience in the following areas:

  • Setting hair to form a foundation for updo styles

  • Using a range of heated equipment

  • Selecting and using styling products to complement your look

  • Dressing hair into a vertical pleat, rolls, knots, twists and curls.

Materials

There is a fee to cover the cost of a professional hairdressing and styling kit you'll need to complete the course. As the course is run in our working salon, you'll need to wear smart black clothing (no trainers or jeans) as part of the salon uniform.

Assessment

There is no coursework or exams during the course, but you'll be expected to complete an informal practical assessment at the end of the programme.
