Introduction

Whether you're looking to improve your skills in Excel for work or home, this course will teach you some of the basic and intermediate skills to make the most of Excel.

By the end of the course you'll be able to:

  • Explain the structure and components of a function

  • Use the following Excel functions: SUM, AVERAGE, MODE, MEDIAN, COUNT, COUNTIF, COUNTIFS

  • Solve practical domestic and work-place problems using Excel

  • Use Excel Help to understand how any Excel function works

  • Learn more advanced Excel terminology

  • Develop simple charts

Materials

Your tutor will provide a booklet with explanations and exercises. You should bring pen, pencil and rubber.

Entry Requirements

Completion of the South Thames Beginners Excel course.

Or, you will need to be familiar with Excel fundamentals, for example data formats (number, text etc.), making simple formulae to add, subtract etc. and understand basic Excel navigation and terminology.
