Introduction

The course is designed to develop your technical skills in using accounting software. You will be using SAGE Line 50 and this qualification complements the other Level 1 AAT qualifications.

The course is made up of the following components:

  • Recognising potential risks and knowing how to protect accounting software against threats as well as differentiating between cloud / traditional accounting software

  • Setting up general ledger accounts

  • Recording bank and cash transactions from a variety of documents.

  • Producing a variety of business reports such as a trial balance and similar

Materials

You'll need to join the AAT to take the AAT exams. AAT membership has plenty of benefits including access to essential accounting resources on career development, technical training, network meetings and a quarterly journal. For current membership and exam prices, please check the AAT website or speak to your tutor. There are a selection of books that you need for this course. Your tutor will confirm costs with you when you start the course.

Assessment

You will take one computer-based online assessment at the end of the course.

Next Steps

This course will give you the knowledge and confidence to progress onto employment. It will also allow for progress to the AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping or the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting.
