Electrical Installations (Buildings) City & Guilds Diploma - Level 2

This qualification is aimed at you if you, if you are looking to start a career in the electrical industry.

This qualification is suitable for anyone from 16 years old or over. There are no formal entry requirements for anyone wishing to take this qualification.

This qualification covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the Electrical industry.

  • Entry Requirements


    We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

    You will provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.

    4 x GCSE's at D/3 or above, or a Level 1 Diploma in a relevant subject.

    Your GCSE profile must include either maths and / or English , or a Functional Skills qualification in maths and / or English.

  • Course Content


    The following areas that will be covered within this qualification:

    Health and safety Principles of electrical science Electrical installations Installation of wiring systems *Communication within building services engineering.

    Centres and providers may work with local employers who can contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers may provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements will also be provided by the employers. This practically based training is ideal preparation for training on the job or specialist further study.

  • Progression Next Steps


    Progress to Level 3 in electrical installation or find a job as an electrician's mate in the electrical contracting or maintenance industries.
