This is a new course designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge needed to progress to further study or an apprenticeship in the health and social care sector. You will develop your knowledge in areas such as health and safety, first aid, jobs in health and social care as well teamwork, employability and presentation skills. You have the chance to complete projects set by local employers and voluntary organisations as well as work experience. This course is ideal for learners who have completed a Level 1 qualification and for those who struggle with exams.

You'll need to pay for your DBS check. This is normally paid at enrolment.
Continuous assessment by completing assignments and building up a portfolio of work. There are no external exams.
Three GCSEs A*-D/9-3 including English or maths; OR a relevant Level 1 qualification plus English and maths assessed by us to be at an appropriate level.
If you don't meet all the entry requirements for this course don't worry - you can still apply. You may need to take a preparatory Level 1 course with us first to pick up all the skills you need for further study. We'll discuss this at your interview.
You can progress to a Level 3 course for better job prospects or take up an apprenticeship.
