This course offers students the opportunity to make guitars/ukelele of their choice and learn how to undertake repairs. Learners work at their own pace on individual projects and each students’ speed of work is unique according to their skills base and ability. The course caters for complete woodwork beginners to those who are expert in handling tools and wood.
The course aims to teach a multitude of skills including the use of hand/power tools and maintenance, wood identification/selection, understanding and creating technical drawings from 2D to 3D, wood cutting, shaping, carving, working with inlays, cleaning, varnishing, understanding the workings of a guitar and many other skills related to guitar making.
Your tutor will give you feedback and advice. You'll also complete self assessment and homework.
