Cake Baking and Decorating Student

“My aim was to improve on my baking skills and learn new techniques. I've learnt to use room temperature ingredients, not to over mix, how to use the cut and fold technique and that not all of the cake batter needs to go into a mixer. My cakes are now moist and the different recipes I have learnt throughout the course are always a hit with family and friends. I am enjoying the class and cannot wait to develop the skills I have already built.”

Introduction

Learn to craft beautifully decorated cup cakes to a professional standard. This course covers a range of techniques you can use to create intricate embellishments and unique designs and gives you space to practise your skills and share ideas.

The course content may vary according to the preferences of the class, but could include:

  • Stencilling

  • Modelling using sugar paste

  • Lettering

  • Adding colour

  • Making simple flowers with sugar paste

Entry Requirements

This course is open to beginners, but will also help you if you have experience decorating cakes and want to try new techniques and develop your skills.
