Wendy Day

stained fused glass 270

I have always been captivated by stained glass - the clear, rich colours that cast enchanting impressions, transforming a room - the depth and warmth of their glow... so when self-employment allowed time for evening classes I eagerly grabbed the opportunity to join the stained and fused glass course at Merton College, returning to my neglected artistic roots.

The course has been fantastic - creating the 'me time' I was seeking, finding a new skill and interest. We are taught a good selection of stained glass styles, including leaded panes (my passion), foiling and fusing - being allowed to major on the style of our choice.  We work independently but with the perfect level of support and encouragement, especially when things don't quite go to plan! I have met a fabulous array of different characters in the class, always happy to lend ideas, encouragement and helpful opinions.
