English and Maths GCSE
If you're 19 or over by 31st August 2019 and have a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification or skills at similar level, you can apply to join an English or Maths GCSE course starting in September 2019. GCSE English and Maths qualifications are often required for those wanting to study on a university course.
Before you enrol, you'll have a short test with one of our tutors to help us decide if a GCSE course is the right one for you.
If you've already completed a functional skills course, please bring your certificates with you when you come in for your test.
If you don't have a formal qualification in English or maths then you can take this course for free as long as you get a good enough mark on your assessment.
When and where can I study?
You can study in the daytime or evening.
All courses run one day or one evening a week for three hours.
Your tutor will discuss timetabling options when you come in to enrol.
What you'll pay
If you don't have a formal qualification in English or maths GCSE at grade C (or grade 4), then you can take this course for free as long as you get a good enough mark on your assessment.
How to apply
You'll need to take an assessment before you can enrol on the course so we can put you on the right level.
Please note that these Merton assessments are for people aged 19 and over only as of 30th September 2019.
You can receive email notifications when further assessment dates are added to this page by entering your details here.
