What else do we provide?

The College offers courses on our premises and in the workplace. We work with employers in each area of our curriculum and can adapt courses to meet the needs of individual companies.

We also provide services to business in the following ways:

Apprenticeships

Make a difference to your business and employ an apprentice! You will get an enthusiastic member of staff who is learning relevant new skills while contributing to your company's performance.

We run apprenticeships in:

  • Motorcycle Maintenance
  • Catering and Hospitality
  • Adminstration
  • Several other professions at our Wandsworth Campus

We can train an existing member of your team or help you find a new a new recruit.

Skills for life

We have substantial experience of developing non-English-speaking staff. Costs are often supported from government sources, and we have run several schemes on behalf of the European Social Fund. We also run introductory level classes providing literacy, numeracy, study skills and confidence-building opportunities for staff who need these to start working towards NVQ courses.

Work placement students

We place our students in all sorts of roles in a variety of sectors, in companies of all sizes. Placements can last from just a couple of weeks to full-year, part-time posts. Our students can contribute usefully to companies and many have progressed to paid employment with the placements.

Merton College recently merged with South Thames College. The former Merton College now becomes the South Thames College Merton Campus.
