Guitar Set Up

Players and technicians interested in making guitars play well.

This is a two day course; dates will be available form Admissions.

Planned content is suitable for both Electrics and Acoustics.

  • checking instruments for buzzes, loose braces
  • assessing necks and fret condition
  • fret dressing for a better action
  • refretting techniques
  • adjust nut and saddle
  • adjust truss rod
  • check machine heads
  • tool selection and advice

Acoustic instruments are available to work on or bring your own.

Guitar Electrics Servicing

This course is aimed at players and technicians interested in working on electric guitars. This is a two day course; dates will be available from Admissions.

Day 1 covers component operation and knowledge together with building a number of basic electric guitar circuits.

Day 2 covers more advanced components and building a number of electric guitar circuits with complex functions.
